How I spent Oscar Night
I started gridding my BoInk fabric. I ordered a 15x18 cut of 28ct Dove-Grey Monaco. It's definitely 28ct Monaco, and the width is right, but the length is very tight. I'll have to be creative in my finishing with this. I counted carefully from the center and was very nervous when I got to the top left corner. It also took longer than I thought it would. I guess I need to hunch over a table, and not try to watch song and dance numbers while I do this! At least I won't be as nervous about running out of fabric since I can see the grid.
You can see how far I got, plus my colors. The pattern calls to stitch this 2 over 2 on 28ct. I suppose I could cut it in half and stitch over 1, but I'm already stitching 2 over 1 on 28ct on Dove Love. I'd rather not have 2 eyestrain projects going at once!
Off-topic - I enjoyed watching the Oscars! It was glamorous and fun, and I thought Hugh Jackman was brilliant. I loved that he kept making fun of not being nominated. Every time I see him, whether in a performance or an interview, I like him even more.

When I started looking over my fabric for BoInk, I noticed that mine was going to be a tight fit as well. I ordered a larger piece about a week or so ago but I may just use what I have if the new piece doesn't get here in time.
I double-checked their measurements, too, and ordered something that should have had at least an inch on each side - you can see that I do on the width, and in the upper right corner. The top is wonky, though. My grid goes in a straight line on the fabric, and the cut doesn't.
It's very lovely and I enjoyed the Oscars too.
I admire your patience. i could never sit and grid up a whole piece of fabric I'm always far too excited to get started.
