My Week In Stitches

Sunday - BoInk

Tuesday - Pixie's Lady (I also stitched on her on Wednesday, she has gorgeous blue sleeves now)

Thursday - Advent Calendar (stitched on #9 Monday and this one Friday also)

I'm annoyed, my camera decided to eat 3 WIP pix. So you'll just have to be surprised next week at how much I accomplished. Monday night I finished Advent day #9, and last night I pushed so hard to finish the x's on this little bear. And Pixie's lady has sleeves and is ready for skin - I had to do the sleeves first so I knew where to put her hands. It'll be about a year late, but this lady should be ready to fly off to NY by next Saturday.

I also finished my khaki skirt yesterday - no model pix, but I'll see if my camera will behave today and try to take one of it hanging in the closet. I know, it's not the same, but you really don't want to see my legs right now. ;)

Today I'm going to settle in for some crochet and cross-country ski-watching. I'm very proud of Team USA and their performance at the Olympics (not in the cross-country ski, but in everything else). I've never been one for "extreme" sports, but I was so thrilled watching Shaun White take that victory lap and blow everyone away! Awesome!

Weekend update

I was cruising blogs this morning before stitching, and found a reminder from Anna about a stitching challenge. I agreed to this and forgot about it. Found the image of the pattern a few days ago on my computer and thought I'd already missed it. I haven't! Yay! So I'll add it to my stitching rotation after the blogoversary stuff is done.

BoInk - you can see that my "fix" will work! I'm a little giddy. Not as much as I was Sunday evening when I finished that "foot", but still. I may cheat and start a motif tomorrow. I think I've earned it.

Blackwork ornament - I'm playing with texture and thread plies. And yes, I'm making a one-sided ornament - I have several scraps of purple fabric that will make a nice back.

Do I have anything else to show? I don't think so. So I'll just show you all a picture from the baseball game from my trip to Seattle - a Ken Griffey, Jr. double. Gorgeous. And I can't believe I caught it. Digitally :)

And a pic from our trip to the zoo on Thursday - this tortoise was hanging out next to his (her?) pool and looked up when I said "Hi, Tortoise!" (I will admit that may have been a coincidence.) So I got a great shot over the fence.

Friday!!!

Why am I so excited about Friday today? Is it a hold over from when Saturdays were different from any other day? Maybe it's because it's the first day of Spring, maybe because the forecast is sunny and 70, maybe because Hallie starts spring break next week.

I had a blast last night watching MLB pre-season. I've been a Seattle Mariners fan since high school, and I'm glad that we are able to get the cable station that runs all the Mariners games. I'm so excited to have Ken Griffey, Jr. back in Seattle - he should be the true HR king, IMO. "My heroes don't have asterisks." And while watching the Mariner win (!), I got several rows done on Dove Love. Finally, I'm feeling balanced again. DH was watching the game in Seattle, I was watching in Boise, and we talked and texted each other during the game. He fell in love with me when I explained the infield fly rule to him, LOL.

For my stitchy friends - in case you haven't seen already, Emily (the floss box) has a new blog. Her previous site is still in my blog feed and will be up for a while, but she's posting new items at her new site. Right now there's no feed, so you'll have to go visit to see if she's doing anything new (yes, she is). Hopefully she'll get a feed soon. Emily has great biscornu patterns (free!), and they are all there (I checked) plus some I hadn't seen before.
