Embracing life in a small town

This weekend the neighboring town had a street festival, so we decided to go check it out. It was so fun! They had free face-painting for the kids (Katie got a little pink flower on her cheek) and a fun-bounce-castle-slide thing.

We walked along the creek and watched a tug of war between the high school football offensive line and the development-planning team for the city. (The football players won, but no one went in the creek.) And we rode rides! Katie rode in the airplane, and we all went on the Ferris Wheel. There is nothing like sitting at the top of the world, with your little girl giggling beside you. We followed the high school marching band to their "performance site" - they did an Egyptian song, and I thought of my RR girls!

I think I could get used to this kind of life!
